We were gifted an organ!

...so that happened!

2-Minute Read

Sockerbruket is a really interesting place to be in it seems.

For the most part we are completely at our own devices here in our little Makerspace-room.

Alex couldn’t show up today so we’ve been work a lot on scavenging tools and materials and planning in order to make the place more organized and compatible with a lot of people working on their own projects at the same time.

It’s been fun!

We usually scavenge antiquity stores and second hand stores in the hopes that we will find some really good tools or rejected machinery that we can tinker with…

And for me, personally, we really hit the damn jackpot today.

We saw that someone was trying to sell an entire ORLA Electric Organ.

Now here’s the thing… I’ve had this dream of making my own DIY Pedal Bass for SO long… and I have seen people do it on the internet.

But it’s mostly in America and the reason for that is because so very few people scrap old organs in order to salvage the bass registries and sell them separately… and I’ve been living in a flat all my life… there’s NO way my parents would’ve allowed me to get my hands on an entire organ in order to saw it to pieces inside of my childhood room like… no way.

So we wanted to see what the price was and met up with… I think his name is Jon Strömm, the dude that holds Lilla Loppis every weekend in Sockerbruket.

He said “if you promise me you’ll really get rid of it and I won’t see it again, you guys can have it”.

He didn’t exactly bring a tough bargain as far as I’m concerned…we loaded it up with the transporter that we could borrow, brought it up the stairs and put it in the Makerspace…

It had some coffee stains on the top registry but that didn’t bother me in the least!

Ah… I love Makerspace.

Over and out.
